About Us

TSSC was founded in June 2026 by Dr.-Ing. Stephan Thesing as the result of a long journey in software engineering and security disciplines ranging from university research over real software product development to product and information security and the certification process as part of the airworthiness department.

The diverse stakeholder roles, environments and philosophies encountered during this journey provided the opportunity to broaden the view on "how to do things", and how certain things should better not done, considerably. They also provided the insight that technology development rarely fails mainly due to complexity or the lack of engineering competence, but rather that human and organisation factors play a major role and can make the difference between an efficient and successful or a failed project.

Based on this learnings the "philosophy" of TSSC is simple:

  • No one-size fits all solution is ever efficient. What works in a big company with diverse employee spectrum is totally unusable for a small startup of expert engineers and vice versa.
  • Understanding the rationales behind processes and standards is more important than following written rules blindly.
  • Efficient processes and development needs to consider the people involved in the context and organisation of their company. People are more important than processes.
  • Training needs to be tailored and targeted for the real-life tasks in the concrete setup to be useful.

Based on these simple insights, the services of TSSC have been designed to deliver true and lasting value for our customer. You need to achieve your professional targets and we get you there.

Software & Security Expert

"Software has been my passion for a long time, paired with intense curiosity to find out how and why (or why not) technology works. Aviation and the safety critical applications of software have been my professional playground for the past decades, granting me the opportunity to follow two passions at the same time. During this journey, the security topic joined alongside my software passion, sparking a new interest in finding out how people and organisations impact development of systems."

Experience

From 2017 until 2024, I was Head of Product Cyber Security and CVE for Software at Siemens and Rolls-Royce Electrical.

In the airworthiness team, I defined the certification basis for electric propulsion systems.

From 2008 until 2017, I was Airbus Group Expert for Software and Team Lead at Airbus Helicopter.

I worked on military (NH90, Tiger) and civil projects (H135, H145) during that time, both for internally developed software and as interface and oversight to work done by suppliers for dedicated equipment or software components.

Education

In 2004, I received my PhD in computer Science from Saarland University for a thesis on using formal methods for worst-case execution time determination for Airbus flight control software.
